British F4 E-Sports - Snetterton and Oulton Park
Written By Olivia Eyeson
The British F4 E-Sport championship returned for Rounds 3 and 4 held at Snetterton and Oulton Park respectively, marking an improvement in Mensah Racing’s performance.
A reminder for how the championship operates, the grid consists of 15 teams and 30 drivers competing across 8 rounds. Each round holds 2 20 minute races, with the second race holding a reversed starting grid.
Round 3 - Snetterton 300
The third round of the 2023 British F4 ESports Championship saw the grid race at Snetterton. The Snetterton 300 circuit holds 12 corners, with 5 left handers and 7 right handers across the 3 miles that make up the track.
Race 1 saw Carl Chase finish P16, whereas his team Elliot Pugh, filling in for Daniel Cebula, made his championship debut to finish P21.
In Race 2, there was disappointment for Carl as he disconnected meaning that his result was a DNF. There was better news for Elliot though as he neared the points finishing an impressive P11.
In the Formula Ford 1600 championship, Aaron Mensah improved on his results in the first two rounds to finish P14 in both Race 1 and Race 2.
There was an overall improvement in the performance of the team as we were able to beat the Aston Martin team, which is a great achievement.
Round 4 - Oulton Park International
Round 4 of the British F4 Esports championship took the grid to Oulton Park International Circuit. The Oulton Park International Circuit holds 6 left hand and 11 right hand corners across the 4.30km track.
Daniel Cebula made his return behind the wheel after missing Round 3 at Snetterton. Race 1 saw him get up to speed immediately, nearing on the point scoring positions after finishing P12. We also saw the return of Elliot Pugh ,filling in for Carl Chase, though it was a difficult Race 1 as he was involved in an incident which led him to finish P24.
Race 2 saw Daniel be the receiver of bad luck after he was caught in an incident causing him to finish P24 whilst Elliot wrapped up a difficult Round 4 by not being able to start the race due to an IRacing server issue.
Race 1 was disappointing in the Formula Ford 1600 championship, as Aaron did not start due to a penalty received in the previous race. However, Race 2 provided another opportunity to score points, where he got close by finishing P13.
Though the conditions were difficult and the races were incident packed, Race 1 saw the team beat Aston Martin once again showing the improvements in performances.
Despite having difficult luck, the team dealt with the conditions impressively by beating Aston Martin. We hope to capitalise on these improvements in preparation for the next round at Silverstone.

The 2023 British F4 E-Sport Championship returned for a double header at Knockhill and Donnington Park as we draw near to the end of the season.
The championship’s grid consists of 15 teams and 30 drivers competing across 8 rounds. Each round holds 2 20 minute races, with the second race holding a reversed starting grid.
Round 6 - Knockhill
Round 6 of the secondary British F4 E-Sport season saw the drivers race at Scotland’s Knockhill Circuit. The track is known for its narrow and short nature with incidents being common, making it a challenging race for drivers.
Race 1 saw Elliot Pugh finish P13 ahead of teammate Carl Chase who finished P14. Compared to the highs that Silverstone brought, the result didn’t provide any points.
Unfortunately, Race 2 brought more disappointment. Chase took another P14, whereas Pugh was involved in an incident causing him to DNF, highlighting the difficulty of the Knockhill Circuit.
In the Formula Ford 1600 championship, Aaron Mensah had a difficult weekend. As in both Race 1 and 2 he was involved in incidents that caused him to DNF.
Knockhill proved difficult for the team with no points being claimed across the weekend. However, any time on track provides insight into how to improve future results.
Round 7 - Donington Park
Though Round 6 at Knockhill proved difficult for the team, Round 7 provided another opportunity for points as the championship headed to Donington Park. The Donington Park GP circuit consists of 12 corners with 5 left handers and 7 right handers. The mixture of high and slow speed corners provide for an interesting race with many overtaking opportunities.
Race 1 proved difficult with neither driver scoring points. Elliot Pugh finished P15 whereas teammate Daniel Cebula finished P23. However, the Race 1 results weren’t indicative of the team’s pace.
Race 2 showed the team to be competitive with Pugh scoring points ,following his podium at Silverstone, with a fantastic P6. Though Cebula didn’t score points he was nearby with a P12 finish.
Aaron Mensah wasn’t able to compete in the 7th round of the Formula Ford 1600 championship due to school exams, so his next opportunity to score points will be at the season finale held at the iconic Brands Hatch circuit.
Though Round 6 proved difficult for the whole team, Round 7 showed their ability to return to their competitive nature. There was lots to learn from the penultimate round of the British F4 E-Sports Championship in order to be competitive in the final races.

Round 8 - Brands Hatch
The season finale of the British F4 E-Sports championships saw the drivers head to the iconic Brands Hatch Circuit. The Brands Hatch GP Circuit holds 11 corners holding 3 left-handers and 8 right-handers across the 3.916km track.
Race 1 saw the start of a difficult weekend for the team. Both drivers were involved in crashes which saw Elliot Pugh finish P23 and Carl Chase finish P26.
Race 2 unfortunately brought more disappointment with Elliot Pugh being involved in another crash leading him to finish P21. Though he wasn’t involved in an incident, Carl Chase also had a DNF after disconnecting leading him to be classified as P23.
In the Formula Ford 1600 finale, Aaron Mensah finished P16 in Race 1. However, in Race 2 he had difficult luck after he was involved in a crash leading him to finish P19.
Though the finale at Brands Hatch proved difficult for the team, the season has included highs such as our podium at Silverstone and points at Donington Park showing the potential of the team. This season has allowed the team to learn more about the setup and track locations so that we can return stronger next season. Hopefully 2024 will see the team battle for points, podiums and wins each weekend.

Round 1 - Brands Hatch Indy
For the first round of the championship, the drivers had to tackle the Brands Hatch Indy circuit. The circuit is characterised by its high speeds due to the amount of corners. There are two left hand corners and five right hand corners over the 1.944km of track.

British F4 E-Sports - Silverstone GP Race Report
Written by Olivia Eyeson
Round 5 of the British F4 E-Sport championship was incredible for Mensah Racing as the team scored their first podium, a show of the improvements made since our first race.
A reminder of how the championship operates, the grid consists of 15 teams and 30 drivers competing across 8 rounds. Each round holds 2 20 minute races, with the second race holding a reversed starting grid.
Round 5 of the 2023 British F4 ESports Championship saw the grid head to the iconic Silverstone circuit. The Silverstone GP track is 5.890km consisting of 15 corners. The wide track differs greatly from the last round held at the narrow Oulton Park International Circuit. The contrast between the fast turn sequence of Maggotts and Becketts, and slow corners like The Loop mean that the race is very technical for the drivers.
In the Formula Ford 1600 championship, Aaron Mensah continued to make improvements on his performances nearing the points in Race 1 after finishing P11 and then scoring a P15 in Race 2.
Race 1 in British F4 E-Sports saw a stellar performance from Elliot Pugh who secured the first points of the season after taking a P6. Pugh was involved in the midfield battle, battling Altus Esports’ Ted Bradbury for P5. Daniel Cebula’s race was more difficult and he finished P18 though there is still plenty to learn from the race in order to score points in the future.
Elliot’s Race 1 performance set the tone for his race weekend, with Race 2 proving successful. He started the race in reverse grid pole, putting him in a good position to secure even more points. He led the race but after an aggressive move on Gordie Mutch he was handed a slow down penalty. Despite this, he held onto P2 until the penultimate lap when he was involved in an enthralling battle for the podium positions with Mutch, Mckeown and Berryman. Pugh crossed the line in P3 providing Mensah Racing with their first podium and great points for the championship. Unfortunately, there wasn’t as much good news for his teammate Daniel Cebula who finished P24 after being crashed into.
After the incredible performance from the team this weekend Daniel Cebula sits P24 in the drivers’ championship with teammate Elliot Pugh being a big mover up to P12. For the Constructor’s standings, Mensah Racing sits P9 out of 15 teams only 16 points from Veloce Vext who sit in P8.
