AFBE-UK works to increase the number of ethnic minority people who pursue a career and have successful careers within the engineering industry.

We promote diversity in engineering and technology through our programmes and activities which are led by exceptional professionals and leaders in the Engineering industry and are designed to bring about meaningful change, sustainable growth and development and a lasting positive impact to the UK.

The UK has a long standing history of engineering achievement. However the UK engineering sector is currently experiencing a shortage of skilled professionals. Only 9% of UK engineers from Black and minority ethnic (BME) backgrounds although an average of 29.9% of engineering university graduates are from BME backgrounds.

School Events
We offer girls aged 8-18 a unique opportunity to participate in our free Girls on Track events. The goal of the program is to inspire and encourage an interest in STEM subjects and industries amongst school girls, with the aim of increasing female participation in these sectors, using motorsport as a medium to expose them to the incredible opportunities and career paths within the sport

Community

The ability to meet other members, both online and at networking events, allows our members to connect with other women who have a passion for motorsport. We encourage members to ask advice from one another and showcase their successes to inspire others. Whether this be a podium in a race, a good result in an engineering exam or for getting a job working within motorsport, our community shares and celebrates it all.

Cabot Learning Federation (CLF). Our family of schools has been serving families as a multi academy trust in the South West region since 2009.

Our Federation was created to enable staff to collaborate and work more closely together to deliver the best education possible for the pupils who attend our academies. Our work is built on a set of shared values, which explicitly commits us to championing the success and life chances of all children. Our HEART values define how we hope to shape the experiences of our learners and the impact we hope to have in supporting our communities.

Our vision is simple: we believe that by working together rather than in isolation schools are best able to secure and sustain their ongoing improvement, as exemplified by the experiences and track records of those academies that have become part of our trust over the past 12 years.

This sense of working together with others is a concept we extend beyond our own family; meaningful collaboration is at the heart of our culture and we are proud to be able to support, and help to shape and develop the educational landscape across our region and beyond.
